Columbus Suspends Recycling and Yard Waste Removal

The Columbus Citizen Services Center has issued the following press release concerning yard waste and recycling pickup suspension:

Effective Friday, March 27, 2020, the City of Columbus will suspend non-essential waste collection services until further notice.

The Department of Public Works is adjusting the Solid Waste & Recycling collections schedules as follows:

• Household garbage will be collected on regularly scheduled day.

• Yard waste and recycling collections will be suspended until further notice.

• Recycling Drop-off sites will NOT be available.

• Landfill Tipping fees are waived for citizens during this time with proper identification.

Citizens can bring their yard waste to Granite Bluff Landfill and all tipping fees will be waived if proper identification is displayed. Columbus residents will be required to show ID verifying their city address in order to receive the waiver.

We ask each citizen to take waste reduction measures, if possible.
