Doubleheader sweep!
Thursday 08-14-2008 11:11am ET
So the Cubs romp the Braves twice yesterday. I think they have officially thrown in the towel folks. The Bravos were outscored 18-2 yesterday in an embarrassing twin killing at Wrig...ah, Turner Field. It just seemed like Wrigley, seeing as how over half the crowd was wearing Cubbie blue. I happened to be in attendance at the nightcap last evening, and enjoyed myself immensely. I must give thanks to B.R. Johnson for the ticket, Mark Ellis for the transport, and Mike Haralson for the laughter!
p.s. this'll be Cox's last year. don't think he can take much more.
p.p.s GO CUBS GO!!!
Thank goodness interleague play is over!

I thought it would never end! The Cubs struggled during interleague play this year, going 6-9, including being swept at U.S. Cellular Field by the White Sox. As a Cubs fan, I like the crosstown series, but I wish it would end there. Six series, for most everyone, is WAY too much for me. I think it should be limited to one home and one away series per season. Just enough to fulfill those natural rivalry teams/fans, and not bore the snot out of the rest of the country. They'll never change it, but they should. Now the All-Star game is right around the corner...
Tiger wins the U.S. Open...yay...

Everyone knew he was going to win it. After his less than stellar start, he slowly marches to the front of the pack. Or should I say limps to the front of the pack. Look, I know he just had knee surgery, and I'm sure he still has some discomfort, but give me a break. After every shot, the camera zooms in for the Oscar-worthy grimace. Don't tell me Tiger isn't aware of that either. This guy was milking it for all it was worth. He even said that if it weren't the U.S. Open, he wouldn't have played. He wants all eyes on him and knew that this would take what little attention that's paid to any other golfer away from them and put it on the mighty TIGER! There's no doubt, he's the greatest golfer on the planet right now, and by the time he's done, he'll be the greatest ever, but come on. Go grimace in your bathroom mirror Tiger, cause I don't want to see it.
THE TRUTH HAS BEEN SPOKEN!!!

So far, so good...
Tuesday 06-10-2008 10:45am ET
Well, we're into June and my Cubs are maintaining the best record in baseball. I must admit, it's quite exciting. I'm not ready to crown them World Series Champs just yet, as I know there's a long, long way to go, but it's still nice to know that they are on the right track. They seem to find a way to win ballgames, despite themselves sometimes. There's still four months to go, and a few improvements left to be made, but I'm looking forward to an exciting summer of Cubs baseball. Wish I could say the same for you Braves fans...
These guys might be on to something!

Congrats go out to the team, the coaches, and the school. Columbus is blessed with a tremendous amount of talent, and this is just another shining example. We are all proud! Enjoy it!
Congratulations Class of 2008

As another school year comes to an end, I congratulate all the new grads out there. I also remind everyone else out there to be on the lookout for all the extra traffic on the road this summer. Parents of teens, please remind your kids to be careful on the roads. Speeding and reckless driving is responsible for many, many accidents every day across the country and it can be prevented. Let's slow down a bit and be safe out there.
Mother's Day Success
Tuesday 05-13-2008 12:45pm ET
I'd say I did a pretty good job with my first Mother's Day experience. My son, Holden, turned out to be a very generous young man! His mom was extremely pleased and grateful for her gifts. I just hope he loves his dad as much as he loves his mom. Father's Day is coming up you know!!!
